Utah...

We get cold. Very cold. And Ive, in my life, had inside cats and nothing but outside cats.
Ariel is right, a box. Cardboard is a good insulator. And even better? Newspaper!
Get two boxes, one that will fit in the other and leave 6 inches of room around it. Wad up newspaper and stuff it tight, and fit the other box inside it. I know its wierd, but it works really well.
Cut a small hole through both boxes to crawl into, and another quarter sized hole. Put a towel covered heat pad in on the floor of the box, run the cord out the small hole, and turn it on to low at night.
Make SURE you give them a litter box, and they will probably use it, and train themselves while they are out there.
And, in my opinion, extra material/towels/tees/etc is a nono. Besides urinating on it, it attracts moisture and freezes, and makes them colder.
It will all be fine. They will be fine. Really they will.

For future reference, it helps to read the thread before posting in it.

To the OP: Like the others before me have said, it's not your fault what happened. It's your parents' fault
