New puppy :)

About a week ago, I picked up my new pup... something a little different from my usual fare, but that I have been working towards getting for several years now

Introducing... "Bukra" (Arabic for tomorrow)
black and tan smooth Saluki











And a group shot of all my dogs... from L to R - "Bukra" (saluki), "Spanky" (boston terrier), "Bindah" (APBT), "Ruger" (APBT), and "Clairece" (bull terrier)


As I type this, I am having to reach over and around Bukra because he's curled up in my lap lol He's very sweet and cuddly, especially for a Saluki. I have huge plans for this little guy... AKC shows, OFC (open field coursing), Lure coursing, agility... the possibilities are endless! He will run lure coursing for the first time this weekend, and we'll walk through an OFC trial the weekend after.

P.S. - In case anyone knows Salukis, yes.. his tail does funny Basenji-like things LOL but it's not against standard, and I think his tail is just adorable

Yeah, a Saluki is a definite change of pace compared to all those "bully" breeds, but it's always nice to diversify! She's a stunner; you don't often see the smooth-coated Salukis, so it's really good to see a nice specimen like this.

By the way, your brindle APBT girl looks almost just like my old Carver gal, "Ivy", my first female, right down to that little white stip on her muzzle.

pitbulllady... so far, he's holding up his own just fine and giving the bulldgs a run for their money lol Both his sire and dam are feathered.. I was glad to get a smooth coat! Though if he was grizzle.. that would have just been perfect haha. But as it is, black and tan is my next favourite colour in salukis haha

She's definitely no Carver dog, but the brindle bitch is a sweetheart





She lives with my parents, and they keep her at a pretty hefty pet weight... which drives me nuts, and I try to work as much of it off when I have her LOL

My girlfriend has a Saluki and it is shy but loving, they are a great companion dog.

Yeah, hers is the kind with the hair on the ears, I'd post a pic but my camera isn't working right now. Salukis are one of my favorites, I think the only dog that I like more are Yorkshire terriers but even then it's a close call.

whitewolf - THANK YOU for the compliment on his stack! It took me SO long to get him to stand still long enough for a picture! He naturally stacks like the inscriptions and statues of ancient Eyptian dogs, with one back leg a little farther forward than the other haha
