4 years old and still churning out nymphs - with no male.
I have two female hissers (Farrago and Arloest) who will be four years old this Valentine's day. They were obviously with a male before I got them, but haven't been with a male since - yet they pump out babies every six months like clockwork! Or at least they did; it had been a good year since the last brood, and I thought that they had about exhausted their sperm resources. Apparently not! I went to feed them today (they are in their own seperate tank since they're special to me) and lo and behold - more than 20 neonates, out of Arloest from the looks of her suddenly slim figure! I can't tell if I'm happy or if I want to scream, because I already have about 50 of their offspring (seperated into single sex colonies), plus my breeding colony of black hissers, PLUS 25 soon to be sexed juvies that I adopted from someone local. I think I might just start feeding the babies out since I really don't need another 20 hissers on top of what I already have. But I have to say, it is really amazing how long these guys can store sperm - holy moly!

That's amazing! Have any males come from the most recent set of nymphs?

Yes, but I remove the nymphs after their first sheds and raise them in a seperate container since I tend to feed wetter foods that nymphs drown in to my adult hissers. So none of her "children" could have impregnated her; she lives with three other old females in a 5g.
