Tityus paraensis birth

I just caught my Tityus paraensis in the process of giving birth, only 3 scorplings so far, hopefully there will be more :

Thanks, the gestation period was 131 days (she was mated back in january), about average for Tityus spp.

i guess im doing something wrong, one female died.. and the other hasnt given birth yet, and im pretty sure they mated before yours ;(

I had exactly the same problem, one of my females died after mating as well , which is pretty odd as you virtually never get deaths of young adults.

I think I keep my scorpions hotter then you, which might explain the quicker development...can you see the embryos? They were clearly visible through the plural membrane of my female for the past few weeks.

I kept them at about 29C, but I've lowered to temperature recently to about 26-27C

Hmm well I checked on her tonight and there's still only 3, either she's eaten the others or somethings gone wrong with the birth...I'll be very annoyed if she dies.

What funky looking scorplings, they kinda look like 2nd instars (pronounced colouration) but I don't know much about scorps
