Better pics of the mystery T's

I made a new thread because the first one was full of my crappy pics and most likely more confusing than it was worth. If the mods want to delete the previous thread feel free.

Basicly i got 2 new T's from the pet shop i work at(special order). They were labeled black earth tiger and "tawny." I am guessing the earth tiger is a Hapolopelma -something- and the tawny sure looks and acts like a T. blondi. threat posing at the drop of a hat...ANY hat.

Your "Tawny" is more than likely Hysterocrates gigas.

well H. gigas is certianly better than tawny, tawny sounds wimpy LOL. any thoughts on the "earth tiger?"

Well H. gigas is probibaly correct he/ she fits the attitude and size descriptions as well as the pics i have seen.

the Earth tiger sems to be a Hapolopelma Spp.

At first(in the old post) I was thinking C schmardae but with the better pics I am gonna say H schmidti (black color variation). And count me in for the vote of H gigas also.

Your "Tawny", is most likely H.gigas. Locally, they all come in as "Tawny Red Baboon", or "Cameroon Red Baboon". Importers know they can get more money for a T.blondi than an H.gigas, so that kind of mis-label while not impossible, is very unlikely. Either way, they are both big and beautiful Ts.

Congrats on two awesome Ts! Some excellent additions to any collection.

I think know what Leon maybe thinking it is tho it does not show the beard/sideburns i see a patch of dense setae on the femur of leg II on the second pic that with the dark colour (ducks!) maybe O.hainana?.
