get a termite monitoring station. pest control companies imbed them in peoples yard (for a fee) and check them throughout the year to determine if someone has an infestation. im just not sure where to get them except from my neighbor.fiveohatch said:
they breed pretty slow but i dont use them as feeders.... because you have to like break their house to get some workers and they get really stressed when their home becomes destroyed... i have 1 medium colony but i will get more colony soon i have dampwood termites which cant eat your house if escaped, biggest termite in US and big soldiers!! i will sell some colony soon if i find few more colony they are easy to keep... just shoe box with soil for bedding, and 2 large rotten wood on top works fine.... just replace logs when eaten so i recommend using termites as backup feeder....
