Hello I'm raising baby millies and was wondering if I should use calcium powder supplement. Please keep in mind I can't get a hold of oak leaves or any other kind of leaf. Because of the danger of parasites.
Sure you can, lots of people use em. Just bake em, boil em, or microwave em. I microwave, put all the leaves in a bowl with a lid, fill it up with water, put the lid on with a corner up to leave space for steam to escape and then let it go for 5 mins or so. The steam should kill anything in it. I use bark and rocks from outside all the time too, I bake those at 300 for 20 mins or so.
great. Now that I have a method I need a favor from you guys.
I don't know what oak leaves look like so somebody for all that is holy post a picture please
This is a guide to leaf ID. About half way down the page it shows pics of red oak, white oak, etc.
I've also read that you can mix ground up cuttlebone (the kind you use for birds) for a calcium supplement. Don't know if it's true......maybe someone with more experience than me can shed light on that!
