Difficulty transferring tarantula?

I only do two rehousings (3 if acquired as 1/2" slings). Most of my slings go in 4x4x4 deli containers, I just vary the substrate level based on the species. For rehousing, I simply put the container inside the next one and coax the spider out. The upside is most of them you can let come out on their own, and fast ones you have to coax out of a burrow will stop inside the new enclosure somewhere so you can get the lid on. The downside is you end up with a 3" juvenile in its permanent enclosure which some people believe is too early. I find the less rehousings, the less stress, especially on T's that don't handle readjustment very well. My L. Violaceopes is like that. Once in a new enclosure, it will quickly build a burrow, and never be seen again for months, lol.
