I'm thinking Isometrus krasenskyi

judging this based on:
-ST granulation
-univerally yellow legs w/o spotting

I. formosa, will have spotted legs and a the ST is not sharply pointed... its rather wide and rounded.

Isometus Key (PDF format)

it is definately NOT I. maculatus... I have a bunch of those

the second:
Chaerilus species

likely Chaerilus rectimanus judging on size and chela
It was just a guess on the species. It wasnt really serious. I just knew it couldnt be centruroides and it looked like a species of Isometrus. so I took a guess... there was no real reasearch involved ;)

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but here is the invaluble page on scorpions of singapore from Kian Wee
http://members.tripod.com/~c_kianwee/local.htm

looks remarcably like the last one..

if you could contact Kian Wee, maybe he could help you, but last time i contacted him he was very busy, and leaving the hobby, and this was ~2 years ago

Walton,

Don't know about the Isometrus sp. but that Chaerilus is very nice!

Isaac,

Unfortunately, I have the Hemilychas & Lychas revision but cannot scan it and send because my scanner's down. I do have the Isometrus revision on my comp if anyone's interested?

Isaac,

I can tell you this from memory - if it has tibial spurs on legs III & IV, it's not Isometrus, as Isometrus do not have tibial spurs.

I'll take your word for it;) , its a tough one to pick out the detail on.

Yes, Chaerilus are very small, it makes them difficult to feed when they are sub-adult

Walton,

If you can, photograph walking legs III & IV in close-up. Let's see if this puppy is indeed, Isometrus or Lychas.

Walton,

I've kept Lychas mucronatus together without preoblems. I have no experience with any Isometrus spp. Sorry.
So, let's determine generic placement then, worry about getting him some tail! LOL

A Lychas that measures 9cm? Not necessarily impossible, so I will await a more solid determination -- but I am skeptical to say the least.

Cheers,
Dave
