We often find these guys inside our house, especially in the winter and now that it is getting warmer I am seeing them outside a lot too.
I keep wanting to find out what they are but Google was of no help and couldn’t find it in any of my books either.

looks just about as the picture shows although I have seen some with a bit of brown on the abdomen. Found in BC.

Unfortunately there's not enough detail in these pictures to identify even the genus, the only obvious thing is that it is an adult male. It might be an Amaurobius sp., but I'm not certain. Next time try putting the spider on a darker background. When the camera notices a lot of white/bright area, it will often decrease the exposure and you're left with underexposed dark parts (eg. the spider here).

Amaurobius ferox maybe? The pics I could find look pretty similar and we have them in Canada. I'm not very good at IDs tho so don't quote me on it 😆
