I found this spider huddled next to the water meter. When I saw her body shining in the light I initially thought it was Latrodectus hesperus. After pulling her out I quickly realized it is not Latrodectus. Is this a Steatoda species? Dorsally she is brown with two almost invisible specs of white. She laid a white pear shaped sack the day after her capture.
